Its that time of year again where we list everything we've done in the past year, and this year has been exceptional.
You can read all about Q1 in this post.
Our Ops Director made a rare trip out of the office in March, (she doesn't come to many events, but for this one she decided to !) to attend DCD Connect New York and to visit a Cable Landing Station in New Jersey for our work with the Sustainable Subsea Networks project, we happened to be in New York for St Patricks Day, so plenty of Guinness was consumed!
In April, our MD attended the ESG Data Cloud event in Iceland.
May was a very sad month, our Head of Security Poppy (The Dog!) passed away resulting in the cancellation of a trip to DCD Connect Spain and the DCS awards. We also went to Mayo, Ireland for some personal stuff but also to visit another Cable Landing Station in Killala, the other end of the cable we saw in New York!
In June, we attended a number of events, DataCloud Cannes, an AI event at the Savoy Hotel in London, and a wedding (handfasting).
July was a quiet month for 6 days! Two new joint heads of security (Pippin and Merry, two black labrador puppies) started work? on the 6th July!
August was busy with preparation work on our National Data Centre Academy project, site visits for fire detection and supression, raised floor, additional design work etc, more info on the National Data Centre Academy can be found on the website
September saw our MD attend the DCD Connect London event and some activity at the NDCA.
In October, we attended the first ever Yotta event in Las Vegas, presented at the SCTE event and moderated a panel session at Capacity Europe, as well as various activities relating to the NDCA.
November saw our MD moderate 2 panels at Data Centres Ireland and appear on another panel, as well as attending a kick off meeting for a ISO50001 Energy Management Assignment and visit DSIT to discuss data centre sustainability and planning aspects and we also assisted a local council on a data centre planning matter. Our MD also renewed his Certified Data Centre Audit Professional (CDCAP) and Certified Data Centre Sustainability Professional (CDCSP) credentials
December is mostly quiet but this year quite busy with site visits at the NDCA, attending the DCD Global Awards as a judge (again!) and the DCA Christmas drinks event.
2025 will see the completion of various projects, the Transport, Industrial Cooling and Refrigeration (TICR) project, where we have been leading the data centre stream, various TCDA asssessments, CEEDA assessments and the ISO50001 project, we're hoping to start a few as well (cant say too much at this stage!)
The National Data Centre Academy will be holding a 'Data Centre of the Future' event on the 22nd January and tickets are available from the NDCA website , we're also speaking or moderating a few events, ESG DataCloud in Brussels, DataCloud in Cannes and probably at quite a few more (keep an eye out for separate announcements!)
Our National Data Centre Academy is now open for business and you can view the course and register for the training programme using this link
We wish all of our viewers the very best for 2025 and we hope to see some of you at the NDCA!
